Zoe Brooks
Zoe Brooks' paintings and drawings explore the natural world around us. Known for her vast backgrounds her work becomes specimens of interpretation. Zoe works out of Adelaide to produce multi-media performative sculptural installations that examine cultural theory and contemporary societal issues that become fused together by affective states of emotion. An auto-ethnographic approach to writing and making, she explores the relational qualifications between languages form and content; as a series of psychological and physical responses. 2015 - UNISA Merit Award 2014 - UNISA ‘Australian Decorative Society of Fine Art Award’ 2013 - Whyalla Art Prize: ‘2013 OneSteel and Arrium Mining – Most Promising Young SA Artists Award' 2013 - Youth Week ‘City of Onkaparinga Youth Recognition Award for Contributions to the Community Award’ 2010 - YouthScape, Royal South Australian Society for the Arts ‘Dr. Kemeri Murray AO Award’ 2008 - YouthScape, Royal South Australian Society for the Arts Foal mixed media on canvas, 76x91cm Banyan Tree mixed media on canvas, 100x100cm Essence of animal mixed media on paper, 50x50cm |
