Tara Seekamp
A textile artist and painter, currently living and creating in the Adelaide HIlls, South Australia. I love art, textiles (especially embroidery), nature, animals, birds, books films and exploring. I grew up on an isolated sheep station in western NSW where I was happiest climbing trees and riding horses. I have been enamoured with birds and animals since then and they are now the main theme of my artwork, particularly our unique Australian fauna. I endeavour in my art to celebrate our connection to animals, the beauty and magic of nature, and the wildness that is within us all. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Hobart, tasmania and I studied Textile Art in Vancouver, Canada for three years. I have called Mt Barker home since 2009 and I love going on walks with my dog, garnering inspiration for my art in our beautiful surroundings. Matilda and the Major King Parrot Wallaroo |
