Claire Foord
Born in Adelaide, South Australian visual artist Claire Foord, celebrates in her work colour & transformation in a style which is exposed, unpredictable & liberated. Claire draws on the theory of colour and the emotive response to colour used in chromotherapy. Whether abstract or figurative she develops each palate individually and through her artwork explores the context of why and how colours are used. Educated at Montreal's Concordia University in Fine Arts and University of South Australia’s, School of Art, Architecture and Design she graduated in with an Award of Merit and Golden Key Honours. Awards and grants have enabled Claire to exhibit abroad. Her work has been selected for international exhibitions including galleries in California & Montreal. With her first European solo show held in Germany. Thus far her career has seen Claire as curator, exhibitor & instigator from group & solo shows to live art murals & community art involvement. Claire’s work is part of private collections in Australia, New York, Canada and Germany and is shown in visual arts collections in Montreal & Adelaide institutions. .
