Anna Couper
Anna's inspiration is drawn from visual sources, such as the sea, landscapes, exploring the shifts and changes marked by time. Her Obvara pieces are from a Russian technique meaning 'scalded ceramics'. Anna has had great success with her research in this area and hopes to take it further. Her Raku work is in close harmony with the tea ceremony, a ritual closely tied in with the philosophy of Zen and one which emphasises also the beauty of the simple and natural. She is always surprised by the serendipity of the Raku and Obvara process. The work having a quality of discovery and natural flow of enjoyment and happiness. A delightful; result of this being all her work is individual and can be enjoyed as such. |
