Henna Bowls
Ceramic
Henna, the pigment I paint with, has been used for centuries as a natural dye derived from the plant Lawsonia Inermis, to decorate the human body. It's intricate patterns narrate the stories of different cultures, traditions and religions, from various regions of the world. My source of inspiration is the life of this plant, which to me, symbolizes the life of a human body, mind and soul. Body being the plant itself, visible to the eye as nature. Mind being the ancient patterns and symbols -- a mesmerizing language that communicates and can be understood. Soul being the color it gives to the body, maturing over time into a beautiful red, representing life, and over time slowly vanishing into nothingness, just like the existence of man. My journey with Henna began when I was five years old. However, during my intense experimentation over the last 15 years, I have discovered a profound friendship and healing powers present in this magical plant. People follow this art form without fully grasping the scope of its energies, so I decided to learn about it from the best teacher I could find - Henna itself. My aim is not only to preserve the patterns but also to make them part of our lives, reflecting their healing energies for all those who see them, touch them, and feel them.

Stripy and Funky Lady Designs
Ceramic
I was a beach kid of the 60′s and my drawing has been influenced by the bright lively colours and ″fun″ lifestyle. Thrown functional clay pieces become my canvas, clay and brush my tools of trade. On a trip to France I observed the ″cool style″ of the French women and developed the ″funky lady″ decorated ware. Much overseas travel and a lasting interest in Japanese culture and brush painting filter into my very Australian themes. I design, make, photograph and teach in the Art′s Industry. I always enjoy the creative challenge and hope people enjoy using my pots.

Spotty Mugs
Ceramic
Born and raised in rural South Australia, Erin has always had a love for art and the hand-made. After majoring in design in year 12, she completed a diploma in Interior Design and Decoration in 2000. She then went on to study a Bachelor of Visual Arts and Applied design at AC Arts and also studied ceramics in New South Wales and Queensland. Following the completion of her degree, in 2007 she was accepted as a design associate in the JamFactory's ceramic studio for two years. During this time she was selected by the Helpmann Academy to travel to China and participate in an artist residency for 8 weeks in the famous pottery town, Jingdezhen. She now creates her ceramics full time from her home studio.
